Tough Love: A Valentine Sonnet?
Guys attempt to make women happy on this day,
Though they come up short they still try with many gifts,
In desperate attempt to appease the bae,
You won’t. The other guy will because he lifts.
Tis’ the day of giving Valentines,
Some from acquaintances, some from crushes.
Among the sweets, get some Vitamin C with some sweet
clementines.

A simple “how-do-you-do” would suffice.
If a girl happened to stroll by, some Rice students may be stuck
in their drool.
Even though some may fail at getting a date on Valentine’s Day,
You shouldn’t care. No one wants to hear “I love you” anyway ...
