Chieftain September 2015

BROTHER RICE VOLUME 55, ISSUE 1 Chieftain SEPTEMBER 2015 Cool Summer Jobs Welcome Letter An introduction to the 2015-16 school year By Charlie Beauregard Chieftain Staff The 2015-2016 school year is well underway. The Chieftain staff is overdue in officially welcoming you all into what will hopefully be a spectacular year. To the staff and faculty, we hope you may use your skills to enhance ours. As students, we are open-minded and ready to learn. To the Seniors, we would like to wish you luck in your final year. We trust you to lead us and be a great example for the student body. To the Juniors, we encourage you to work hard in what is the most important academic year of high school. To the Sophomores, we urge you to grow in all that you learned from your Freshman year and to enhance your skills in all areas. And to the Freshman, we welcome you to the brotherhood that is the Band of Brothers. We highly recommend joining clubs to get to know other students and teachers. We hope you enjoy your time here as you take a step into a new era of your lives. As the school year begins, Brother Rice experiences some serious changes in the classroom. The new iPads have B ROTHE R R I C E H I G H S C HO O L C H I E F TA I N certainly made a big impression. For the most part, school seems to be running smoothly in the midst of change. As the school year develops, we at the Chieftain look forward to following and bringing you updates on the new iPad system. As the school sees change, so does the Chieftain. This year, the Chieftain has six new faces and three returning staff members. Coming along with the new staff is a new Chieftain masthead. Thanks to new staff member, Ryan Israel, we have enhanced our design with a new nameplate. We will be distributing the Chieftain via Brother Rice email again, and all issues will be posted on www.brrice.edu. We are becoming increasingly digital. If you have interest in contributing to the Chieftain, be it a guest article, question, comment or concern, please contact us at [email protected]. We want to hear your opinion. Another fun way to interact with us is to follow us on Twitter @ BRChieftain. And yes, we will follow you back. We look forward to an amazing school year. Good luck to everyone this year in all that life may bring you.
