Retiring Hoch among
Rice faculty honorees

would do it again,” Mr. Hoch says, “but I’ve
had enough for now. Fifty years is enough. I’m
ready to go.”
Mr. Hoch said his favorite moment was being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009. He

Hard-working MRP’s Fall show is a hit

The Marian-Rice Players, more affectionately known as MRP, returned
with a new production last week. The
Fall production of “Blithe Spirit” is one
of their best shows to date.
The entire MRP staff put on an
amazing show. Nothing compares to
MRP on a high school level. They’re just
that good.
Outsiders don’t understand all the
little things that go into a play. Production for “Blithe Spirit” began a month

before school started, and cast and
crew put in 20-hour weekends. This
reporter gained a new appreciation
for what they do. It is very obvious
that the staff is committed to making quality content for their audience’s enjoyment.
Seeing “Blithe Spirit” in its
entirety left a mark. The production had a professional feel to it.
The scenery was hand-built. Walls
were measured out and constructed
